Second man's desk after refurbishment before and after. The original desk had become life expired due to the days of the loco having no windows. Matt took the desion to make a new one with some surplus plate from re-plating of the cab side. Mike drilled the holes, made a new horn stem & knob,
as well as making new identification labels and the overhauling of the window wiper controller. Matt fabricated and welded the tabs.
New fire alarm test switch. This photo shows a recently made plate to replace the original in the top of the photo which had become rather tatty. The switch was overhauled and after asking the manufacturer if they would provide spare parts and having never received a reply, we thought it would be appropriate to replace their name on the plate with alternative wording as seen in photo. If any other group would like a duplicate made please contact the group for details.
Field divert resistor banks. As can be seen 2 resistors are damaged. Anyone know where we can get some replacements?
Also if anyone has any photos of 45149 in service that can be used on the website please could you let us know !
